Catching Up

It's been a while since we dusted off this old blogger! Things have been marching along as usual in the meantime. Our clinics in the rural areas continue to serve the sick and lead people to the local church. The churches are active in their communities and nearby towns teaching people about the saving and changing love of Jesus. The ABC program for child sponsorship is growing, and we are seeing so many more kids graduate from sixth grade and choosing to keep studying in junior high and high school. The youth of the area churches just had their national youth rally and it was well attended and commented upon. Praise God for the growth of the churches and we pray for the Spirit to guide the future spread of the gospel.
We were recently in the States on our annual road trip visiting our supporting congregations of Eastside Church of Christ in Colorado Springs, CO and Meadowbrook Church of Christ in Jackson, MS. These two groups of people have been so faithful in their support for us both financially and emotionally. We won't lie and say it's an easy trip, driving and visiting and stretching our introverted selves as we socialize for a month. But we always come away more than encouraged and built up by these godly, hospitable people.
In addition to our church visits we enjoyed getting to see my (Lisa's) family to celebrate my mom's birthday--not something we are around for usually. Happy Birthday, Mama! It does our souls good to get to be with our family and friends back home!
Here are some fun pics from the trip.

On the road again in our trusty Toyota Itasca Spirit!

We were racing to get to Colorado before the snow storm hit. It was in the 70s when we passed this sign. Next day was 14 degrees!
Pretty chilly!

This is a sample pic of the great times we had visiting friends at the churches.  Let's just say we didn't starve haha!
Actually got to see 2 colleagues from Kemmel's world in healthcare consulting - Debra Adams and Susan Meyer, great day.
A trip to Celestial Seasonings with good friends--thanks for taking the pic Jeannette!
Not too bad for a selfie!
Beautiful Pike's Peak

My beautiful Mama!

Hanging out with our Paschall family celebrating my mom's birthday.

And trying to help Texas Tech win--it didn't work.

Visiting our Brown family.

Halloween magic for the Brown men.

Crossing the Mighty Mississippi
Meadowbrook church packing up food bank bags. Always serving the community.

We were surprised with 150 pounds of Spanish children's and youth books and crayons! This is just one of the collection stations.

We were treated to so many good meals--both home cooked and out on the town. This one was Sunday dinner complete with live music "They All Ask For You"

We wrapped up our trip with a stop at an
RV park right on the beach. This was our morning coffee view. Thank you, Lord for your many blessings right here on this earth!
